Chick-fil-A is ending donations to three groups that oppose gay marriage. It's part of an effort to halt protests and broaden its customer base. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and the Salvation Army, who Chick-fil-a donated US$1.65 million and US$115,000 to respectively in 2018, are no longer on their charity list. Instead, Chick-fil-A says they will work exclusively with organizations that are focused on education, homelessness and hunger. Chick-fil-A President Tim Tassopoulos said the company — which is closed on Sundays — will still consider donations to faith-based groups.
