LeBlanc sworn in as minister of finance following Freeland resignation

Dominic LeBlanc, a longtime friend and loyal foot soldier for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, took the oath of office to become Canada's new finance minister. LeBlanc replaces Chrystia Freeland, who resigned from cabinet earlier in the day after Trudeau told her he was going to move her out of finance to a different role. (Dec. 16, 2024)
