Home renovations can be stressful, but turning to salvage yards and stores like the Habitat for Humanity's ReStores can ease some strain on the pocketbook. ReStore vice-president Rob Lee says the more than 100 stores across Canada can let homeowners save a lot of money while those who donate old kitchens, appliances and other materials earn tax receipts. Customer Dennis O'Keeffe says there are great deals to be had but he warns do-it-yourselfers to know your limits and avoid electrical and plumbing.
