Newsroom Ready: Pablo Rodriguez leaves cabinet, Liberal caucus to run for Quebec Liberal leadership
Pablo Rodriguez announced his resignation as Canada's transport minister and the government's Quebec lieutenant so he can run for leadership of the provincial Liberal party. He plans to sit as an Independent member of Parliament until the Quebec Liberal leadership begins in January, to avoid a byelection so close to the next federal election. (Sept. 19, 2024)
