Newsroom Ready: Trudeau, Anand insist Canada will up its defence spending
As the NATO leaders' summit in Vilnius, Lithuania, wrapped up, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Defence Minister Anita Anand both insisted that Canada will do more to increase its defence spending and capability. The military alliance has agreed upon a new goal for members to spend two per cent of their GDP on defence, but Canada's spending is just shy of 1.3 per cent. (July 12, 2023)
