Labour Minister Steven MacKinnon says he’s ordering the Canada Industrial Relations Board to impose binding arbitration to end work stoppages at ports in Vancouver and Montreal after negotiations reached an impasse. Port workers in B.C. and Montreal have been locked out during ongoing labour disputes that has frozen cargo container movements from two of the countries busiest ports. (Nov. 12, 2024)
