Newsroom Ready: Conservatives challenge government on emissions plan

Conservative MPs challenged the Liberal government in question period Wednesday on its plan to boost oil and gas production to offset Russian fuel bans in Europe, while also promising to reduce emissions from the sector. The government’s new emissions reduction plan aims to cut emissions from the oil and gas sector to 42 per cent below 2019 levels by 2030.
