Newsroom Ready: Garneau bars cruise ships from Canadian waters until fall
Transport Minister Marc Garneau says the federal government is banning large cruise ships from Canada until at least October to keep COVID-19 at bay. The move extends and expands a ban that initially extended to July 1. Smaller vessels, such as water taxis and those used for day trips, can operate but subject to local restrictions and tightened safety measures.
