Newsroom Ready: Hundreds from Nova Scotia's forestry sector stage rally in support of Northern Pulp mill

Hundreds of unionized workers in Nova Scotia's forestry sector turned up at the legislature Thursday to rally in support of the Northern Pulp mill. They want the province to extend a legislated closure date for the mill's effluent treatment facility. The owners of the mill say they are preparing to shut down operations if they don't get the deadline extension. Premier Stephen McNeil is to make a decision on Friday. About two dozen heavy trucks also made their way through downtown Halifax in a show of support.
