Newsroom Ready: GM winding down production at Oshawa Assembly Plant
General Motors is winding down production at its assembly plant in Oshawa, Ont. Some workers gathered today to call for more government action to save the plant. GM announced in November last year it would wind down production at the plant, which has been in operation since 1953. The company first started producing vehicles in the city east of Toronto in 1918.
