Newsroom Ready: More than 500 people took part in a 'healing march' in Halifax on Saturday

The event was one of five marches held across the Maritimes to pay tribute to an Indigenous woman who was killed by police in northern New Brunswick last week. Chantel Moore, 26, died after she was shot by a local officer in Edmundston on June 4. Healing walks were also expected in Edmundston, Fredericton and Moncton, N.B., as well as Halifax and Membertou, N.S.
The events followed the fatal police shooting of an Indigenous man in eastern New Brunswick on Friday night.
