Newsroom Ready: Gatecrasher taken quietly because of RCMP's care, deputy commissioner says
An armed man who crashed his truck into the grounds of the Governor General's residence was arrested unhurt because the RCMP always seeks to end tense situations peacefully, Deputy Commissioner Mike Duheme said Friday. The arrest is a contrast to the violent treatment particularly of Indigenous suspects documented recently but Duheme said the Mounties act on immediate circumstances, not ethnicity.
