Newsroom Ready: Liberals close borders to many visitors over COVID-19
The federal government is going to close Canada's borders to most non-residents in a bid to slow the spread of COVID-19. In making the announcement, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the decision was based on the advice of public health officials, and explains why American visitors will be exempt from the new rules. The decision is one of several the Liberals are implementing to in response to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
