New Democrats say the emergence of the Omicron variant makes it even more urgent for the federal government to support patent waivers to allow poor countries to manufacture vaccines against COVID-19. They argue that the federal Liberal government's refusal to support waivers shows they are more interested in protecting “big pharma.”
