Newsroom Ready: Legion marks 100th anniversary of poppy in ceremony with governor general
The Royal Canadian Legion marked the 100th anniversary of the poppy being adopted as symbol of remembrance during a ceremony with Gov. Gen. Mary May Simon on Monday. The ceremony also kicked off this year's National Poppy Campaign, in which money raised through donations for poppies is used to support veterans.
