Author Paul Myers says he wanted to explore the humanity of one of Canada’s most beloved comics with his new book, “John Candy: A Life in Comedy.” The book dives into the personal and professional trials Candy faced while carving out his place in screen history with celebrated roles in projects including “SCTV,” “Splash,” “Uncle Buck” and “Planes, Trains and Automobiles.” The book comes out Oct. 7, 2025.
