A treasure trove of paintings, sculptures and design pieces from the collection of Pauline Karpidas, the late Manchester-born art patron, are going under the hammer this month at Sotheby’s in London. Ahead of the sales, the auction house has opened an exhibition recreating her Hyde Park residence, showing how she lived alongside works by Picasso, Warhol, Magritte and others.
