Justice Minister Sean Fraser says the government has introduced legislation to create four new criminal code offences to protect religious institutions and target hateful symbols. The bill would make it a crime to obstruct or intimidate people outside a religious institution, including schools and community centres and make it a crime to promote hate through the use of symbols, including the Nazi swastika.
