Canada tops New Zealand 34-19, advances to Women's Rugby World Cup final

Canada is off to the Women's Rugby World Cup final. The No. 2-ranked country topped the defending champions 34-19 in the tournament's first semifinal Friday. Sophie de Goede led the way with a try, two conversions and a penalty for the Canadians, who will face the winner of the match between England and France. The final is set for Sept. 27 in London. (Sept. 19, 2025)
