Montreal-area police urge calm ahead of weekend marches in honour of teen slain by police
Police on Montreal's South Shore are urging calm ahead of protests planned to honour 15-year-old Nooran Rezayi, killed last weekend by Longueuil, Que., police. Insp. Gino Iannone says police have information some people may try to co-opt the event and carry out violence against officers, but he hopes the events go on peacefully and respectfully. (Sept. 26, 2025)
