Ottawa and Alberta have signed a memorandum of understanding committing them to working toward building an oil pipeline to the West Coast — and opens the door to changes to the coastal tanker ban. The accord comes after coastal First Nations said the pipeline will never be built, and B.C. Premier David Eby said lifting the tanker ban would threaten projects already in development. (Nov. 27, 2025)
