Carney, Alberta Premier Smith sign pipeline deal
Prime Minister Mark Carney and Alberta Premier Danielle Smith signed a memorandum of understanding to work toward building an oil pipeline to the West Coast. At a signing ceremony in Calgary, the two agreed Ottawa would enable export of oil through a deepsea port to Asian markets and, “if necessary,” adjust the coastal tanker ban. (Nov. 27, 2025)
