Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland says nuclear energy is part of what’s needed to help Canada to transform to a clean economy which she said is a “key focus” of the federal government’s budget. She said the budget's big investments, including billions of dollars in the Volkswagen plant, are critical to maintaining Canada's position in the clean-tech industrial revolution in the 21th century.
