Indigenous Tembé celebrate coming-of-age
Indigenous group Tembé commemorated the week-long Wyra'whaw coming-of-age festival, a centennial tradition that the older generations rely on maintaining their cultural heritage. The festival marks the start of the adult life for boys and girls that entered puberty since last year’s ritual. For a week, they dance and sing in the Ramada ritual center.
