Newsroom Ready: N.S. firefighter describes ordeal of fighting fire as home burned
When a large wildfire broke out in a community northwest of Halifax, volunteer firefighter Mark Zawidzki was among the first to respond, hoping to save homes in his community. But as he battled the blaze, his home in a neighbouring subdivision was destroyed. He, his family and hundreds of other residents now face the prospect of rebuilding their lives. (June 1, 2023)
