Labour leader Keir Starmer on Friday accepted the request of King Charles III to form a government after his party’s landslide victory. In a ceremony known as the “kissing of hands,” Starmer officially became U.K. prime minister. Footage released by Buckingham Palace on Friday showed the king greeting Starmer, who gave a quick bow before the pair shook hands in a lavishly furnished room.
