Members of Gaza Strip's deaf and hard of hearing community face unique difficulties in ongoing war
Members of the deaf and hard of hearing community in the Gaza Strip are facing unique difficulties as the Israel-Hamas war continues. Hearing impaired Palestinians have a hard time communicating with people who don’t understand sign language. If their cell phones are charged and telecoms aren’t down, some relatives will be able to inform them of what’s going on. But otherwise, they live in a silent environment and rely on feeling vibrations to try to work out what is going on. (AP Video by Abdal Kareem Hamn and Wafaa Shurafa)
