New research shows the number of 12- to 25-year-olds who used diabetes and obesity drugs such as Wegovy and Ozempic climbed from about 8,700 a month in 2020 to 60,000 a month in 2023. Overall, in 2023, nearly 31,000 children aged 12 to 17 and more than 162,000 people aged 18 to 25 received the drugs.
