Clip: Environment commissioner says Ottawa ‘not prepared’ for climate change impacts
Canada’s environment commissioner says that only five of 19 federal departments audited have adequately planned to deal with the impacts of climate change. Julie Gelfand spoke to reporters in Ottawa on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017. SOUNDBITE: Julie Gelfand, environment commissioner PLACELINE: Ottawa CREDIT: The Canadian Press LANGUAGE: English TRANSCRIPT: Only five departments had done a good job of assessing those risks, 14 had not. These include National Defence, includes Infrastructure Canada, a whole bunch of them have not looked at their climate change risks. In my opinion Canada is not prepared to deal with a changing climate.
