P.E.I. premier calls an election six weeks after taking office

Prince Edward Island Premier Wade MacLauchlan is leading the Liberal party into a provincial election less than two months after he replaced Robert Ghiz. MacLauchlan dropped the writ for a May 4 election Monday.
