Newsroom Ready: Trudeau rules out coalition, promises co-operation in minority Parliament
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is promising his new minority Liberal government will strike a more civil, co-operative tone, but he's ruling out the possibility of any sort of coalition with his political rivals. Trudeau spoke to reporters today for the first time since Monday's election. He says he regrets the divisive and nasty tone of the campaign, and accepted some of the responsibility for it. He says Canadians have given him "a lot to think about."
